Mondays are usually a "rush day" for me. It's not just the rushing in between meetings that never ends but also rushing home so we won't be late for our favorite TV show HOUSE (Fox - starring Hugh Laurie as Dr. Gregory House). Today, there's no rush for me in the kitchen, but I still managed to cook a straight forward Filipino meal in less than 25 minutes.
Here's a simple recipe that you can try
INGREDIENTS:
1/2 onion
5 tbsp. soy sauce
2 tbsp lemon juice
onion powder (optional)
spring onion (optional)
salt
pepper
oil
Estimate Cost: $ 6-8 (serves 5-6)
STEP 1:
Place minimal amount of oil in a pan for frying
Place pork and season with salt and pepper (and optional onion powder)
STEP 2:
Stir pork until both sides turned medium brown
STEP 3:
Add onions, soysauce and lemon juice until onions are cooked (transparent in color)
STEP 4:
Sprinkle with with spring onions
Serve with rice
SECRET INGREDIENT:
Any store brand soy sauce can be used, but if you do not have the time to go through the marinade process and still want to achieve the flavor in a short time, I highly recommend using Lauriat Soy sauce ( found in any Asian stores - between $4 - $6)
