We miss Buca di Beppo! (a.ka. Joe's Basement! ....and for my family in Manila, it's like Italianni's but with a more rustic feel to it. Back when we were in Colorado, whenever we have cravings for a pasta and pizza dinner, we just head out to Buca's, no questions asked! The thing is...we love the garlic bread so much that we ended up with tons of leftovers because we kept ordering the bread like crazy!
Surely, there must be a Buca in this area??? Unfortunately, the nearest to our home is almost 200 miles ( roughly 3 hours, yikes!). We found our favorite chinese buffet, sushi place, steak house, french deli and even ice cream bar.....but when and where can I get my bread (and tiramisu)????
For now, here's my attempt to mimic the memory. I would recommend that you go crazy with mozzarella and layer it alternately with garlic! But below is a one layer diet version .. for my teens who are forever on a diet!
