I have no plans of baking but I woke up at 7 am (on a Sunday?) . I need to get a newspaper and some items at Walmart but kids are still sleeping. Anyway, while waiting for the breakfast sausage to be ready. I might as well multi task and keep the oven busy.
Scones is always a hit in the family so I experimented with cranberry and brown sugar combination. It turned out well! Here's a simple recipe for you to try:
INGREDIENTS:
2 cups all purpose flour
1/4 cup light brown sugar (reserve 1/2 tsp for toppings)
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
4 tbsp unsalted butter
1/2 cup fresh or dried cranberries
1 cup milkESTIMATE COST: $2
STEP 1: Combine all ingredients and mix well
STEP 2: Cut into triangle pieces. Sprinkle top with brown sugar. Arrange in baking pan (Be sure to spray with non stick cooking spray).Bake for 10 minutes at 425 degrees or until medium brown
STEP 3: Serve
